Afropop Worldwide’s Celebration of Black History Month 2024
Series produced by Afropop Worldwide
Afropop Worldwide is helping stations celebrate Black History Month with a specially curated selection of four episodes from the Afropop archive.
Beginning February 1, 2024, PRX’s Afropop Worldwide is helping stations celebrate Black History Month with a specially curated selection of four episodes from the Afropop archive. Since its inception in 1988, our programs and web content have been focused on promoting an awareness of the deep connections between African and American cultures. These four programs focus on specific aspects of African-American story, from ringshouts, to tap dancing, banjo and string band music. These programs offer a rich and unique perspective on our shared cultural history.
