Series produced by WGTE Public Media

"Living American Composers: New Music from Bowling Green" is a radio series devoted to living American composers and their works. Now featuring "Living Women Composers"—curated and hosted by Pulitzer and Grammy® Award-winning composer Jennifer Higdon!

Designed with the curious classical listener in mind, this 13-part, 1-hour radio series offers an invaluable look at what's new in American music.

"New Music from Bowling Green" features exclusive concert material from one of the premiere modern music festivals in the country, alongside in-depth profiles of some of our most important composers—often including Grammy® and Pulitzer-winning composer Jennifer Higdon, who is a curator and occasional co-host of the program.

Recent highlights include an ongoing feature called "Living Women Composers," which is also curated and hosted by Jennifer Higdon.

We also offer in-depth profiles of cutting edge groups including HUB New Music, Latitude 49, Conspirare, Roomful of Teeth, Alarm Will Sound, and the New Music Ensemble at Grand Valley State University.

Other composers and performers featured include multi Grammy® Award-winner Michael Daugherty, “The Exploding Pianist” Kathleen Supové, Pulitzer winners David Lang and Kevin Puts; Bearthoven frontman Karl Larson, and the highly-acclaimed Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble.

Available FREE OF CHARGE to stations via PRX. Also available via FTP upon request (newmusic@wgte.org).

Each season contains 13 new episodes (published from January - March). Stations are encouraged to run episodes of their choosing to fit a 13-week schedule, 26-week schedule, or more. Questions? Contact us at newmusic@wgte.org
