The Heart of America is where Jack Kerouac meets Erma Bombeck on a Harley. Discovering devotion and purpose in every culture that forms today's America, these are South Dakota storytellers Scotte and Toni Burns' (The Love in America Podcast) poignant narrative tales of life, love, wisdom and wind.

Humans are storytellers and seekers, while answers are destinations - once we think we’ve found one, we stop questing, and a journey ends. Instead, our questions and aspirations are the journey we're really seeking, one that shapes who we are constantly becoming, as travelers, as human beings, and as Americans. Among those travelers then, especially Harley “longriders” like Lovin America's Scotte and Toni Burns, there is a familiar saying that, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” American’s continual search for meaning in life, love and time follow that same road.

Evoking the spirits of Kerouac, Fulghum and a little Erma Bombeck gripping the sidecar, these tales are the ongoing story of what it means to live, to find love in, and a love with, America. You won’t find the meaning of life here, but you will find its many expressions. You won’t find answers to the Great Questions, but you’ll discover instead that you’re not alone in asking them, and that means that you’re never really alone at all. In short, what we hope you’ll find is the wisdom of America’s history, culture and people, revealed over the miles as we’ve listened to America tell us what it means to be happy together, what is our place in the world and with each other? What are our deepest passions, keenest insights and farthest views? Riding along on this quest, you’ll also find the wonders of the American highway by motorcycle - hope, inspiration, a few laughs, and a renewed sense in these troubled days that America’s greatest story is still being written by us all, together.
