Queer histories, herstories, personalities and issues are explored with humor, insight and sensitivity each week on Out in the Bay , a weekly half-hour interview show currently airing weekly on KALW (91.7 FM San Francisco). Since October 2004, we’ve interviewed such luminous figures as film directors Ang Lee and John Waters, comedians Margaret Cho and Marga Gomez, singers Big Freedia, Lesley Gore and Michael Feinstein, film actors and Broadway stars. We’ve also featured civil rights champions the late Phyllis Lyon & Del Martin, Matthew Shepard’s mother Judy Shepard, other community leaders, historians, authors, scholars, and everyday people with compelling stories about the reality of LGBTQ life.
