KSRQ is Pioneer 90.1, a college-owned, community-focused broadcaster serving Northwest Minnesota and the greater Grand Forks, ND region. Pioneer 90.1 originates from the Center for New Media at Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls. The station features a blend of Americana music, locally-produced specialty programs (The Saturday Morning Barndance, The Root Cellar, Basement Rock), and programming from the Association of Minnesota Public and Educational Radio Stations (AMPERS).

A majority of these recordings, dating as far back as the 1960s, were made locally and have never been heard publicly. Some episodes feature interviews with local musicians.
