An American journalist in search of his family roots provides an intimate look behind the scenes in Iran. In this five-part series, we travel with reporter Steve Zind of Vermont Public Radio, who traces his lineage to the ruler of Persia in the 1700s. As the search moves from town to town, the listener gains insight into a personal Iran that is rarely seen. The visit includes poignant interactions with Iranians who were seeing their first American, a close call with the local police and a special meeting with the 95 year old family patriarch.
