From Leslie Griffy | 01:30

People took to the streets worldwide on Saturday to protest the Trump administration. It’s estimated that more than a million took part in marches in D.C., Chicago, London and in smaller cities like San Luis Obispo on the California Coast.

In San Jose, Calif., the march was one of the largest protest of any kind in the city’s history. Mayor Sam Liccardo estimated on Facebook that 25,000 took part in the march. Reporter Leslie Griffy talked to a few marchers about what brought them into the streets.

From Leslie Griffy | 02:51

We talked to a few about their summer adventures when we met them in San Jose, Calif.

Rocky's Last Walk

From Leslie Griffy | 04:07

Did you ever have to put a dog down? This was not a question I was expecting on a hike to learn about creek conservation. But dogs, including a chow mix named Rocky, are what motivated this particular conservationist. And today may be Rocky's last day. He isn't on our walk. But he's still with us.

Default-piece-image-2 A hike to learn about Silicon Valley homelessness and conservation efforts turns to something more personal when an activist begins pondering how he got started protecting his neighborhood waterways - because he owed that much to the dogs who loved the creeks and brought him joy. As we hike, he mulls the decision to put down his last dog who is ill.

Because we are all immigrants

From Leslie Griffy | 02:02

The international arrivals area of San Francisco International Airport filled with chanting, singing protesters and lawyers volunteering their service. All were there to mark their anger against President Donald Trump's executive order banning immigrants from seven majority-mulism countries.

Reporter Leslie Griffy talked with the children and grandchildren of immigrants and others - all worried for the future.
